Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad K. Sangma announced that over Rs 700 crore is being invested in multiple development projects for Tura town during the inauguration of the Nehru Ading Locality Beautification Project. The Chief Minister emphasized various infrastructure initiatives under the Smart City Mission, including Rs 60 crore for paving internal roads and investments for street lighting and beautification totalling Rs 30 crore for Tura Bazar. He highlighted a City Beautification Drive, which includes the installation of around 350 CCTV cameras and 500 streetlights. Specific enhancements for Nehru Ading include four CCTV cameras and six streetlights. The inauguration event, attended by community leaders and residents, was marked by the unveiling of a commemorative plaque. Sangma underscored the community’s vital role in maintaining civic discipline and addressed suggestions raised during the program, such as the need for a community hall and support for further beautification efforts.
