Capacity-building drive: Yuva Aapda Mitra volunteers trained in Meghalaya

The Yuva Aapda Mitra Volunteers Training Programme was conducted by the State Disaster Management Authority in collaboration with the District Disaster Management Authority at Ri Bhoi College, Nongpoh, Meghalaya. This seven-day training marks the third phase of the initiative in Ri Bhoi district, aiming to equip students with skills and knowledge to provide safety measures, assistance, and support during natural disasters like earthquakes and floods. The inaugural session featured remarks from Assistant Commissioner Akash R. Marak, who praised the students’ participation and urged them to stay prepared for emergencies and share their acquired knowledge with their communities.
