The Meghalaya government, led by Deputy Chief Minister Sniawbhalang Dhar, is poised to inaugurate numerous urban development projects following the conclusion of the current financial year. Infrastructure initiatives, especially those concerning schools and civic amenities, are nearing completion with public unveilings expected soon. Notably, the redevelopment of Police Bazar has already been finalized and inaugurated. The Meghalaya Transport Corporation (MTC) project is anticipated to be ready for opening by May or June. In addition to these developments, several other projects, including water supply systems and further infrastructure endeavors, are progressing steadily and have been communicated to the public.

Dhar also highlighted the inauguration of a multi-level parking facility by the Chief Minister, stating that additional parking projects are currently under development and moving forward. He is optimistic about inaugurating more parking facilities in the upcoming months. Furthermore, in discussing a project situated opposite Ward’s Lake, he clarified that it does not fall under the Urban Development department, suggesting that it may relate to the Tourism department, and advised seeking more information from the relevant authorities.
