Conrad Says Rs 3,600-Cr Projects Will Shape 2026 Development Roadmap

Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad K. Sangma announced on Thursday that the state government has planned approximately Rs 3,600 crore in projects for the year, aimed at addressing unresolved issues and providing long-term solutions. Key achievements include resolving the longstanding problems of ad hoc and SSA teachers, with implementation set to begin in April. The government has also resolved scholarship delays through discussions with the Government of India. For the current year, a significant focus will be placed on cleanliness and sanitation, particularly in preparation for the upcoming National Games, with the goal of promoting Shillong, Tura, and Jowai as clean and civic-conscious cities. Sangma acknowledged the challenges but expressed the government’s commitment to align resources and stakeholders, with ongoing initiatives already in place and further details anticipated.
