Maruti Suzuki is preparing to wrap up the year on an electrifying note with the launch of its first all-electric vehicle, the Maruti Suzuki eVitara, on December 2. With this debut, the company will officially enter the growing electric car segment in India. The eVitara has already been unveiled globally, with its design, features and battery options revealed, but the India-specific pricing will be announced at the launch. This model is the first of four battery-electric vehicles Maruti Suzuki aims to introduce in the country by 2030.

The eVitara will be offered with two battery pack options—a 48.8 kWh unit and a larger 61.1 kWh pack. Both versions will use a single electric motor mounted on the front axle. According to Maruti Suzuki, the SUV will deliver an impressive 500 km range on a full charge. The battery can also be recharged from 0 to 80% in about 50 minutes using a DC fast charger, making it practical for long-distance travel.
