Medanta’s Guwahati expansion signals major healthcare investment boost in Northeast

In a move signalling growing investor confidence in the Northeast’s healthcare infrastructure, Global Health Limited (Medanta) has announced the Bhoomi Poojan ceremony for its upcoming 400-bed super-specialty hospital at Sarusajai Industrial Estate, Guwahati, on October 31, 2025. The event will be attended by Assam Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma, Dr. Naresh Trehan, Chairman and Managing Director, and Mr. Pankaj Sahni, Group CEO, along with top government and community representatives.

Economically, the project is expected to stimulate healthcare-linked investments in the region by creating employment, encouraging medical tourism, and driving demand in allied sectors such as pharmaceuticals, diagnostics, and logistics. The facility will deliver world-class tertiary and quaternary care, including robotic surgeries, transplant programs, and cutting-edge diagnostics.
