Overtaking Ganguly, Rohit Sharma now ranks third among India’s ODI run scorers

In India’s second ODI match against Australia in Adelaide, opener Rohit Sharma became the third-highest run scorer for his nation. With 32 hundreds, 59 fifties, and a highest score of 264, Rohit has amassed 11,249 runs at an average of 48.69 from 267 ODI innings. With a knock of 73 at the Adelaide Oval, the 38-year-old Rohit passed former Indian captain Sourav Ganguly (11221) to take third place in the all-time Indian list. The only players to score more ODI runs than Rohit are Sachin Tendulkar (18,426) and Virat Kohli (14181). Earlier, in the second ODI between Australia and India at the Adelaide Oval, Rohit became the first Indian player to score 1000 ODI runs in Australia (not counting World Cups).
