Meghalaya gets new chief secretary as senior most IAS Dr Shakil Ahammed appointed next  bureaucratic head

The Government of Meghalaya has appointed Dr. Shakil P. Ahammed as the next Chief Secretary of the state. He will assume charge on September 30, following the superannuation of the incumbent Chief Secretary, D.P. Wahlang.

Currently serving as Additional Chief Secretary, Dr. Ahammed holds charge of the Home (Police), Home (Political), Water Resources Departments, Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), and also functions as Chairman of the Board of Revenue.

Upon taking over as Chief Secretary, Dr. Ahammed will also assume the role of State Vigilance Commissioner, Meghalaya.
