Simba, India’s pioneering craft beer brand under Saltborn, has strengthened its global credentials by winning Silver and Bronze at the World Beer Awards 2025. Simba Wit (Belgian-style wheat beer) earned Silver, while Simba Stout (Stout & Porter category) won Bronze, placing the brand among internationally celebrated breweries.
The World Beer Awards, considered a benchmark in global brewing standards, uses blind tastings by an expert panel to honour excellence. Simba’s wins are expected to further position India on the international craft beer map while enhancing the company’s brand equity in domestic and export markets. “Our vision has always been to put Indian craft beer on the world stage. These awards reflect our team’s innovation and commitment to quality,” said Ishwaraj Singh Bhatia, Co-Founder and COO of Simba Beer.
In Shillong, a city known for its youthful demographics and vibrant nightlife, Simba’s global recognition is expected to drive consumer interest in premium brews. Market watchers believe that rising disposable incomes, combined with Shillong’s growing café and pub culture, will accelerate demand for craft beer, with Simba well placed to capture this momentum. Saltborn, the parent company, continues to expand its premium portfolio with Simba Beer and ZigZag Vodka, signalling growth in India’s evolving lifestyle market.
