Manipur ended a 25-year title drought by clinching the Junior Boys’ National Football Championship for the Dr. B.C. Roy Trophy (Tier 1), defeating defending champions West Bengal 3-0 in the final at the Guru Nanak Dev University Sports Complex on Wednesday.

Manipur struck early, leading 2-0 by halftime with goals from Lourembam Naocha Singh in the 17th minute and Ngayungmi Kashung in the 37th. Amom Krish Singh sealed the win with a third goal in stoppage time (90+2’). Both teams entered the final unbeaten, with 13 goals each, but Manipur’s superior intensity and tactical discipline dominated the match.

The opener came from a low cross by Khutleibam Sultan, converted expertly by Naocha Singh. Manipur continued to control the game with sharp passing and pressure, while West Bengal struggled to respond. Sultan again set up the second goal, which Kashung netted on the rebound. West Bengal’s top-scorer Rajdeep Paul was well-contained, and their best chance was blocked by Alex Oinam. Krish Singh’s late goal capped a memorable win.
