The state government is presently conducting a consultation process with the goal of simplifying the several teacher classifications found in Meghalaya’s educational system. Bantailang J. Kharshandi, the director of school education and literacy, responded to mounting concerns regarding the future of varied teaching categories by outlining the government’s stance. “The Government of India is actually trying to streamline the entire procedure in accordance with its directives because there are so many different types of schools here. We have the non-government category, which includes ad hoc, deficit, and so on, in addition to government SSA,” he said.
He added that the current action is a component of a larger deliberative process rather than a final conclusion. We are currently in the process. Our goal is to streamline. Therefore, the purpose of this activity is to gather people’s opinions. This is merely a consultation procedure; we haven’t made a decision yet, but in order to gain everyone’s trust, we’ll gather input from these NOCs before holding a final meeting on the matter,” Kharshandi continued.
