A drug enforcement operation in Ri-Bhoi seizes heroin

About 36.03 grams of suspected heroin were recovered during a narcotics law enforcement operation carried out by a team of Ri-Bhoi DEF on February 27, according to Superintendent of Police, Ri-Bhoi District, VS Rathore. “Approximately 36.03 grams of suspected heroin were recovered from the possession of one individual, namely Rajat Paul (29), of Chirang, who was traveling from Guwahati to Shillong in a tourist taxi vehicle, according to information from reliable sources,” Rathore said. “The seized contraband has a market value of around Rs 10 lakh,” he continued. “A case under Nongpoh PS Case No. 29(02)2025 u/s 21(b)/27A/29 NDPS Act has been filed in this regard, and an investigation is underway,” Rathore stated.
