The Two Days National Conclave 2025, on the theme ‘Transforming Teacher Education towards Viksit Bharat 2047’ has been organised by the National Council for teacher Education (NCTE) in collaboration with North-Eastern Hill University (NEHU) on the 27th and 28th of February, 2025, at the Multi Convention Hall, NEHU, Shillong. The programme commenced with the Inaugural Function which was graced by His Excellency, Shri C.H. Vijayashankar, Governor of Meghalaya. The Inaugural Function began with the National Anthem and lighting of the lamp.
This was followed by the warm ‘Welcome Address’ from Prof. B.B. Kharbirymbai, HOD, Department of Education, NEHU, Shillong. Prof. N. Saha, Vice Chancellor, NEHU, Shillong also extended a warm welcome to the dignitaries and delegates present for the two-day conclave. In his address, he envisioned India as a self-reliant nation where education will play a very important role through Teacher Education. He also focused the use of technology and significance of the Indian Knowledge System to embark into a developed India.
The Chairperson, National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE) impressed on Visit Bharat 2047. He also highlighted the role of NCTE in revamping the teacher education. He pointed out that the national Conclave is the first of its kind in the eastern region. He further emphasised on the commitment to transform teacher education through Integrated teacher Education Programme (ITEP).
