Rikman G Momin has been unanimously re-elected as the president of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Meghalaya unit, solidifying his leadership ahead of key elections, including the Autonomous District Council polls and the 2024 Lok Sabha elections. The BJP credited Momin’s first term with bolstering party organization, enhancing teamwork, and attracting leaders from rival parties, thereby expanding BJP’s footprint in Meghalaya. “His re-election reflects the party’s confidence in his leadership and its optimism for future successes,” read an official BJP statement.

Under Momin’s leadership, the party has reportedly seen increased membership and played a significant role in implementing central government schemes across the state. Momin expressed his commitment to strengthening the party at the grassroots level, ensuring effective delivery of welfare programs, and preparing the state unit for upcoming electoral challenges.

In addition, AL Hek, Sanbor Shullai, and former BJP president Ernest Mawrie were appointed as national council members, further consolidating the party’s leadership framework in the state.
