Durex’s The Birds and Bees Talk (TBBT), a life skills initiative by Reckitt, will launch Asia’s first-ever Consent Café at the 25th Hornbill Festival in Kohima, Nagaland, from December 1-10. This groundbreaking initiative will spark conversations on consent, equity, and healthy relationships, addressing the critical rise in gender-based crimes across India. The Consent Café, designed as an immersive space with light, music, and art, will be inaugurated by Nagaland’s Tourism Minister Shri TemjenImna Along.
TBBT’s presence at the festival includes multiple events, such as the TBBT Music Carnival, featuring local talents, and the launch of an AI-powered WhatsApp chatbot aimed at educating young people on consent and life skills. A painting competition and the Durex TBBT Arena, the festival’s largest health pavilion, will further promote inclusion, awareness, and protection.
In Shillong, this initiative holds significant potential for encouraging conversations around consent and social change. With growing awareness about gender issues, Shillong’s youth and educators are increasingly looking for platforms that blend cultural relevance with progressive education. Durex’s TBBT program is expected to resonate with this audience, offering tools for informed decision-making and empowering young people to embrace inclusive values.
