Sawakani War has been awarded the prestigious Usha ‘NIFT Best Garment Construction Award 2024’ during the Graduation Showcase of the 2024 batch in Shillong. This annual award, established by Usha International, aims to celebrate and encourage emerging fashion designers across 16 NIFT centers in India. The ceremony was attended by notable figures, including Shri Giriraj Singh, Minister of Textiles, and Meghalaya Chief Minister Shri Conrad K. Sangma.
As part of her award, War received a Usha Janome Allure DLX automatic sewing machine, a certificate, and a cash prize of INR 10,000. The event showcased the creativity of NIFT students, with their innovative designs displayed on the ramp, much to the delight of the audience.
