Vodafone Idea, one of India’s foremost telecom operators, has partnered with Nokia to deploy the NetGuard Endpoint Detection and Response (EDR) system, aiming to fortify its network security amidst rising cyber threats. This initiative will cover all consumer and enterprise subscribers across India. NetGuard EDR, a sophisticated threat detection suite, will be integrated into Vodafone Idea’s core network, offering real-time, automated monitoring. This will enable swift detection and mitigation of endpoint-related security incidents, thereby minimizing security gaps, reducing the need for extensive testing, and optimizing operational costs. The solution ensures continuous service availability and performance across the entire Operational Technology (OT) network.

Jagbir Singh, Chief Technology Officer at Vodafone Idea, highlighted the company’s dedication to network evolution. “Vodafone Idea is fully committed to driving the next phase of network evolution, ensuring that our advanced solutions deliver both unmatched connectivity and security. As we embrace this journey with Nokia, we are focused on building networks that are resilient and capable of supporting the ever-growing demands, including heightened security risks, of digital transformation,” Singh stated.

In Shillong, the implementation of NetGuard EDR is expected to significantly bolster the security and reliability of telecom services. This enhancement is vital for the region’s burgeoning digital economy, where businesses and consumers alike depend on secure and stable network connectivity. The improved security measures will not only protect local enterprises from cyber threats but also promote a more resilient digital infrastructure in Shillong.
