Toyota Kirloskar Motor (TKM) showcased its specially modified Hilux at the Himtech 2024 symposium, an initiative of the Indian Army and FICCI aimed at advancing self-reliance in defense. The event, held at the Rinchen Auditorium Grounds in Leh, highlighted military technology for high-altitude operations and attracted senior officials from various defense sectors.
The Hilux, celebrated for its quality, durability, and reliability, was presented in two variants: the Field Deployment Vehicle (FDV) and a modified version tailored for rugged terrains. The FDV, having passed rigorous trials with the Northern Army Command, is designed for logistics and diagnostics in remote areas. Meanwhile, the modified Hilux features enhanced off-road capabilities, crucial for military operations.
In Shillong, the Hilux is gaining traction among businesses needing robust vehicles for challenging conditions, reflecting a growing demand for versatile utility vehicles in northeastern India. TKM’s commitment to innovation and customization positions it as a key player in meeting diverse mobility needs.
