Assam’s revered Kamakhya temple was visited by J&K Lt Governor Manoj Sinha

Lt Governor Jammu and Kashmir Manoj Sinha visited Guwahati, Assam, on a one-day visit on Sunday. After being met at the afternoon Lokpriya Gopinath Bordoloi International Airport (LGBIA), he went straight to the well-known Kamakhya temple, one of the most significant and revered Hindu pilgrimage sites in the area. When Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha came at the Kamakhya Temple, the management committee gave him a gift and a “gamosa,” which is the traditional scarf of Assam.

“The moment I step into this temple, I feel a divine presence,” said the Lieutenant Governor, who also thanked the temple’s management for all the preparations they had made. Perched atop the Nilachal Hills near Guwahati lies the Kamakhya temple. It is home to the Goddess Kamakhya and is one of Shakti’s incarnations. Many people travel from all across the country and other nations to this location, which is thought to have great spiritual power, on pilgrimages. Many come to this temple during significant Hindu holidays like Ambubachi Mela. Among all the Shakti Peeths, it is one of the most important.

As one of the 51 Shakti Peeths, it is among the most revered and ancient Tantric practice places. In addition to fortifying relations with Jammu & Kashmir and other states, the tour bears considerable symbolic value in demonstrating the religious and cultural oneness between the northern and northeastern parts of India. Although the Lieutenant Governor’s journey to the Kamakhya temple is a component of the larger project, it is also a private act of devotion and respect. The priests of the temple welcomed him and showed him around the grounds.
