Addressing the Foundation Day celebrations of B Borooah College in Guwahati, Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma gave a clarion call to the students of Assam: march into the future by mastering emerging technologies. Given how quickly the employment landscape is evolving, Sarma emphasized how important it is to stay up to date on the newest advancements in the field. In her passionate lecture, Sarma emphasized the need of understanding about 3D printing, gene editing, robotic process automation, and the Internet of Things. Regarding the future, he also considered a time when “barriers between different subjects will cease to exist in the next 25 years.” He urged pupils to include these state-of-the-art tools into their skill sets, saying, “I want all students from Assam to learn about these new-age technologies.”
The Chief Minister’s ambition went beyond technical expertise. Additionally, he presented a positive image of India’s potential as a worldwide center for semiconductor manufacture. Sarma challenged students to match their abilities with Industry 4.0, a new era that is expected to change industries from manufacturing to banking. She talked about the “unparalleled opportunities” that this transition will give to the youth. Sarma mentioned the developing Indian banking industry during his speech. “India’s financial markets are among the biggest in the world,” he stated, making reference to GIFT City, a recently established initiative designed to establish India as a global financial centre.
For Assamese students, the Chief Minister’s counsel is crystal clear: the future is here, and innovation and technology are driving this progress. If they were given the tools to navigate this new environment, they would be more adept at taking advantage of the opportunities that lay ahead and helping to create a bright future for both the country and themselves.
