Rare Assam Congress lauds Assam’s achievement to UNESCO, says ‘milestone’

Charaideo Maidam, the mound-burial system of the Ahom dynasty which is in Sivasagar, Assam was recently included in UNESCO World Heritage list.

Opposition Congress leader Assam PCC president Bhupen Kumar Borah has applauded Assam’s achievement. The leader has urged urged to create awareness about the Maidams within
and outside India so that more and more tourists visit the site.

Earlier Saikia also said, “This achievement (Unesco heritage site status) is indeed a significant milestone.”
