Assam Government has been taking major steps in the state to control Muslim population. Earlier, the government has announced to abolish Muslim marriage and Divorce Act.
Recently, Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma has claimed that Muslim population is rising by 30 per cent every day which is double the Hindu population growth of 16 per cent.
Assam CM said, “By 2041, Assam will become a Muslim-majority state. It’s a reality and nobody can stop it.”
He also attacked Congress leader Rahul Gandhi by saying, “Congress has the most important role in arresting the population growth of Muslims… If Rahul Gandhi becomes the brand ambassador of population control, it will be contained as the community only listens to him.”
