Lips need to be taken care of like any other part of the body. Lack of care leads to poor condition of the lips. In many cases, the skin breaks and bleeds. We use marketed products to keep lips soft. Be it lip balm or lip gloss, I buy and use almost everything. The chemicals in these products further damage the lips. Chapped lips are not only affected by weather extremes but also by very hot, humid weather. The skin of the lips becomes dry. Applying lipstick over it makes the lips more chapped. So you should take care of your lips regularly. Make lip balm at home, not in-market products.
Learn how to make lip balm at home.
- You can make lip balm at home by mixing some natural ingredients with coconut oil. Applying this balm to the lips makes the lips soft. Two things are needed to make lip balm. 1. Half a teaspoon of coconut oil 2. A teaspoon of petroleum jelly.
Method: Heat coconut oil and petroleum jelly together in a vessel. When heated, the two materials will mix and become of the same density. Allow this mixture to cool. Once cooled, store it in small glass vials. Applying it to the lips every day will keep the lips soft. If you want, you can add more things like vanilla flavor, vitamin E capsules, and ‘essential oil’. Honey can also be added.
- Take half a cup of beets and extract their juice. Add a teaspoon of ghee to this juice. Put this mixture in the fridge this time. Once the mixture is frozen, take it out of the fridge and apply it to your lips. It is very useful in removing dark spots on the lips.
- If you have strawberries at home, you can also make lip balm with them. Cut the strawberries into small pieces and paste them in the mix. After that, mix three teaspoons of coconut oil and keep the mixture in the fridge. When it freezes, you will see that a very beautiful-colored lip balm has been made.
