Shillong: After an accused extreme organization, Sanmilito Sanatan Samaj, started a poster campaign across Assam targeting Christian missionary colleges, border inhabitants of Meghalaya have become fearful. The posters have caused dismay among the people of Meghalaya, since some of them have been sprayed at different places along the tumultuous Assam-Meghalaya state boundary.

Posters in the Assamese language have started to emerge in locations like the Marmain region of Ri-Bhoi, a source informed The Shillong Times on Monday. For fear of retaliation, locals have not raised an alert.
The group has requested that Christian Missionary Institutes refrain from turning educational institutions into religious organizations, follow the Constitution’s section 51(A) about the responsibilities of Indian citizens, and

avoid engaging in anti-national actions, have all religious symbols, costumes, etc. removed from educational institutions, and put an end to the plot to undermine the nation’s centuries-old civilization and culture by using the minority community tag.
The gang threatened to start a large-scale movement if the directives were not fulfilled.

Due to the inability to get in touch with Marmain villagers, The Shillong Times was unable to independently confirm the veracity of the accusations.
