Government highway projects for Uttarakhand and Himachal totaling Rs 1,935 crore

Himachal: Following that, permission was granted to improve the current National Highway 205 in the Solan and Bilaspur districts of Himachal Pradesh to a 4-lane road with a painted shoulder at an estimated cost of INR 1244.43 crore. The route runs from Kalar Bala village to Nauni Chowk.
The sanctioning of highway projects in the hill states of Uttarakhand and Himachal Pradesh, valued at INR 1,935.7 crore, was announced by Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari on Tuesday.

According to Gadkari, Kotdwar city would be bypassed by this road. It would assist to improve connectivity with Uttar Pradesh and lessen traffic in the city.The minister announced on social media that the current National Highway 205 in the districts of Solan and Bilaspur, Himachal Pradesh, has been approved for an INR 1244.43 crore upgrading to a 4-lane road with painted shoulders from Kalar Bala village to Nauni Chowk.

Additionally, it will encourage the growth of the state’s tourist industry. Additionally, it would strengthen access to Kedarnath and Badrinath Dhams, two popular pilgrimage locations.
He said that improved access to Mandi, Dharamshala, Kangra, and Shimla will result from this road project. Additionally, there would be better connectivity to AIIMS and Darlaghat.He said that approval has been granted for the INR 691.70 crore, six kilometers long, four-lane Kotdwar Bypass to be built on National Highway-119 in the districts of Bijnor and Pauri in Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand.
