Mizoram: Three citizens of Myanmar are detained with undeclared money over Rs. 1 crore

Mizoram:According to an official, three citizens of Myanmar have been detained in the Champhai region of east Mizoram with undeclared cash over Rs 1 crore.

The unaccounted cash was found on Thursday during a joint operation by the Assam Rifles and Mizoram Police in Murlen village in Champhai district, close to the Myanmar border, the spokesperson said.In a separate operation, the Assam Rifles detained three people, one a national of Myanmar, in Siahatla in the Siaha district on Thursday and found 277 grams of heroin valued at Rs 1.93 crore.Two Myanmar nationals were arrested on Wednesday in Mizoram’s Champhai district for being in possession of methamphetamine pills, as per an official statement.

On Wednesday, state excise and narcotics officials conducted an operation in Tlangsam hamlet, which is close to the border between India and Myanmar. The official report states that during the operation, the two Myanmarese nationals’ possession of a significant amount of 5 lakh methamphetamine pills was seized.(With assistance from PTI.)
