The Government of Meghalaya on Wednesday decided to update the Dearness Allowance (DA) for its existing employees upto 3% ahead of Christmas. The Government increased the Dearness Allowance from its earlier rate of 36% to the newly fixed rate of 39% for its workforce of 55,000 Government Employees.
Announcing this Chief Minister Conrad Sangma in his social media account wrote, Merry Christmas to our team of 55,000 Government Employees. We are pleased to inform that December salaries are being released early. Further DA hike of 3% has been approved shortly. The decision reflects the Government’s proactive approach towards employee welfare and its responsiveness to the dynamic economic balance.
A Government circular said that the enhanced Dearness Allowance will directly benefit a vast number of government employees, providing them with additional financial support to cope with the challenges posed by inflation and the increasing cost of living. The Meghalaya government recognizes the invaluable contributions of its workforce and is committed to fostering a positive and supportive environment.
