Retired Directorate of Health Services, Govt. of Meghalaya Dr. Rita Tariang formally joined BJP Meghalaya and was welcomed into the party’s group by state president Shri Rickman G. Momin in the attendance of State Vice Presidents Shri Khrawboklang Basaiawmoit, Shri Gagan Jain and Shri Wankitbok Pohshna, State General Secretary Everist Myrsing and State Secretary Smt. Bernadette Lyngdoh.
Speaking on the occasion, Shri Momin stated, Dr. Tariang has undergone with immense amount of Administrative experience and her efforts in expanding the health services amongst those who need it most is well known. The party will get benefit from her experiences and her deep knowledge will help to serve better to the people of Meghalaya.
On what prompted her decision to join BJP Dr. Rita Tariang replied, I realised that this is one party that works continuously for uplifting the poor and the needy, a fact exemplified by the wide range of health related schemes brought in by the Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi led Central Government consequently, BJP offers me a platform wherein I can continue to serve the people of Meghalaya even after my retirement, she added.
