To keep water bodies clean District Magistrate promulgates Section 144

Williamnagar, Dec 19 : East Garo Hills District Commissioner, Vibhor Aggarwal, has promulgated Section 144 of the CrPC in the entire district with immediate effect to keep the water bodies very clean by prohibiting conversion of water bodies for any other purpose like setting up new industries or expansion of existing industries near the water bodies like lakes, dumping of solid and bio-medical wastes, discharge of untreated wastes and effluents from industries, towns, villages and other human settlements, etc. In fact the order also said that emergent steps are necessary to be taken to prevent any pollution of water bodies and rivers to maintain cleanliness in the district which is very important.

Actually water is life and it becomes our duty to keep it clean. Today due to different human activity different pollution is occurring and for this reason water also getting polluted. In you see without water we cannot survive and for this reason we should keep water clean so that we live better. Today water in Meghalaya is very clean and we should keep it clean so that we respect the nature.
